Liuying · Android / iOS

Photo library cleanup, done on your phone

Liuying finds the pictures you saved twice and the bursts you shot without thinking, then lays them out in groups. You decide what goes.

Android is in Google Play internal testing and hasn’t been released publicly. The iOS version isn’t publicly available yet, so there’s nothing to download here for now.

An illustration, not the app’s interface. Three burst shots fold into one group, and a duplicate tucks in under its original.

Five kinds of clutter

The analysis runs on the phone and the results come back in groups. Liuying marks things. It never deletes them for you.

  1. 01

    Exact duplicates

The same picture saved more than once, usually from a chat and then again from an export.

    file hash + perceptual hash

  2. 02

    Bursts and look-alikes

Shots taken seconds apart become one group, in time order. Liuying suggests the one to keep and gives a one-line reason.

  3. 03

    Possibly blurry

Liuying flags these using the sharpness signals available on the phone. You take a look, then decide.

    sharpness candidates · flag only

  4. 04

    Screenshots and chat saves

System screenshots and pictures saved from messaging apps end up in one place, so a long backlog takes one sitting.

    Large videos

Biggest first, with length and size next to each one. If you need space fast, start here.

Left to delete, right to keep

Nothing is deleted until you confirm. Then Liuying hands the job to the system.

On Android, deleted items go to the system trash. On iOS, they go to Recently Deleted. How long you can get them back depends on the OS and its version, and Liuying never deletes anything in the background.

Privacy you can check

All of this is in the privacy policy too, and you or anyone you trust can verify it.

Read the full privacy policy
Photos stay put
Photo analysis, thumbnails and the index stay on the phone. The Android release manifest doesn’t declare the INTERNET permission, and the iOS build has no network calls of its own and no ATS exception.
Purchases go through the store
Apple’s StoreKit handles the one-time purchase on iOS, and the Google Play Store app handles it on Android. That traffic belongs to the system and the platform, and the policy lists it separately.
No account
There’s no account or cloud album, and no ads, analytics or crash reporting. We hold no record of you on any server.

Not in the first version

Better to know the limits before you install than after.

  • Subscriptions

There are none, and nothing renews automatically.

  • Accounts and cloud

No sign-up, no cloud backup and no sync between devices, so there’s no account to delete either.

  • Face albums

Liuying doesn’t try to work out who anyone is, and it stores no face features.

  • Editing and sharing

No filters, retouching or watermarks, and no sharing or memory pop-ups. Tidy up, then close it.

Price and progress

Price

Free if your library has 2,000 photos or fewer. For a bigger library, the full version is a one-time purchase.

iOS and Android are bought separately and don’t carry over. The store page shows the price.

Progress
