What to put in your email
Liuying doesn’t upload runtime data, so we have no logs to look at. Whether we can reproduce a problem depends on what you tell us.
- Your phone model and OS version, such as iPhone 12 on iOS 18.5 or Xiaomi 14 on Android 15
- The Liuying version number, shown at the bottom of the settings screen
- Where it went wrong, for example granting photo access, indexing, browsing groups, confirming a deletion or restoring a purchase
- A screenshot or screen recording. Please cover any photos you’d rather not share
- For purchase problems, the store order number. Please do not send passwords, payment details or ID documents
Common questions
Does Liuying send my photos to a server?
No. Photo analysis, thumbnails and the index stay on your phone. The Android release manifest doesn’t declare the INTERNET permission, and the iOS build has no network calls of its own and no ATS exception.
The one-time purchase runs through Apple’s StoreKit on iOS and the Google Play Store app on Android. That’s system and platform traffic, not Liuying going online. The privacy policy has the details.
Can I get deleted photos back?
Yes. Liuying never deletes files itself. Once you confirm, the system does it, and items go to Recently Deleted on iOS or the system trash on Android.
How long they stay recoverable depends on the OS and its version, so go by what your gallery app shows.
Can I give access to only some photos?
Yes. Both “Selected Photos” on iOS and partial media access on Android work. Liuying then organises only what the system has shared with it, and the app tells you so.
You can change or revoke access in system settings at any time.
How do I delete my data?
Liuying has no account and keeps no record of you on a server, so there’s no account to delete. The data on your phone is yours to clear.
“Re-index” in settings clears the media index, the groups and the failure records, while your keep and to-delete decisions stay. Clearing Liuying’s app data in system settings, or uninstalling it, removes the index and your decisions along with the app sandbox.
The Android app is configured to opt out of system backup and device-to-device transfer, and that setting still has to be verified on the final release candidate. Whether iOS backups include app data depends on the OS and your backup settings. See the privacy policy.
How do I restore a purchase?
Liuying plans to offer the same kind of one-time, non-consumable purchase separately on iOS and Android, with no subscription and no auto-renewal. Libraries of up to 2,000 photos are free and need no purchase.
Android is in internal testing and iOS isn’t publicly available yet, so the store listing is what tells you whether you can buy.
After a reinstall or on a new phone, you can restore only on the platform where you bought it. iOS checks the purchases active on your Apple Account, and Android checks the ones active for your Google Account on Google Play. Purchases don’t sync or transfer between platforms, and you never need to send us a receipt.
The iOS app is licensed under Apple’s standard End User License Agreement. Purchases on Android are governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
Is there another way to reach you?
Yes. The Lenscript main site has a general support request form. If email is awkward, leave a message there and mention Liuying.
For anything about Liuying, email is still the quickest.
